Ranchi, 26 October (Hindustan Reporter). Hearing was held in the Jharkhand High Court on the contempt petition filed by Nandkishore Singh and others for not giving promotion to the teachers posted in Dhanbad district in grade seven. In the case, the single bench of the High Court directed the state government to comply with the order of the court and said that if the order of giving promotion to the candidates is not complied with, then the next hearing will be held on November 22 before the School Education and Literacy Department of the government. The Secretary will be physically present in the court.
Earlier during the hearing, advocate Manoj Tandon, appearing for the petitioners, told the court that in a similar case, teachers of Ranchi and Lohardaga districts have been promoted to grade seven with retrospective effect, but teachers in Dhanbad district have been promoted to grade seven. Promotion was not given.
The petitioner is working as a teacher in Middle School, Durga Mandir Municipality, Dhanbad. Earlier, while hearing the writ petition of the petitioners, the court had directed the state government to consider their promotion case. After this, the petitioners were given promotion only in grade four and were not given promotion in grade seven, regarding which the petitioners have filed a contempt petition in the High Court.
