Ranchi, 25 October (HS). Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni will make voters aware in the brand sweep activity in Jharkhand Assembly elections. They will work in the elections to promote voter awareness. The Central Election Commission had invited him to participate in the sweep activity in Jharkhand, on which Dhoni has agreed to use the picture.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar told that famous cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be a part of the Election Commission's awareness program SVEEP in the assembly elections. He has given a letter to this effect to the Election Commission. The Election Commission will use his photograph in the sweep programs. Besides, his appeal to motivate voters to vote in large numbers will be used to increase the voting percentage. He said that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will join the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand and cooperate in the voter awareness campaign. Said, the association of the renowned personality will strengthen the voter awareness campaign. He was addressing a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurva on Friday.
Kumar said that he visited various assembly constituencies of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh on Friday and observed the sweep activities. During this time, some errors were found in the sweep program, instructions were given to resolve them immediately. He said that the nomination period for the first phase of elections has ended on Friday. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on October 28. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is 30 October. He said that so far 16 FIRs have been registered for violation of the Model Code of Conduct. In this, maximum 9 FIRs have been registered in Garhwa district. He said that since the implementation of Model Code of Conduct in Jharkhand, illegal goods and cash worth more than Rs 51.17 crore have been seized.
