Islamabad: Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, was released on bail on Thursday in the Toshakhana case. A day earlier, Islamabad High Court judge Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb had granted bail to 50-year-old Bushra on a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh. After her arrest in this case, Bushra remained in jail for about nine months. Imran's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf confirmed Bushra's release in a WhatsApp message.
The party said that Bushra was earlier arrested on January 31. A court convicted the couple in a corruption case and sentenced them to 14 years in prison, after which Bushra was arrested. His release is a matter of relief for PTI as well as Imran.
