For a strong democracy, every voter must vote: K. Ravi Kumar

Ranchi, 24 October (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that for a strong democracy, every voter must vote. Voting is to be celebrated as a festival of democracy. Not only do you have to vote, you also have to motivate your entire family, neighborhood, friends and relatives to vote. He was addressing the prize distribution program organized for the winners after the final competition of Election Quiz 2024 at Aryabhatta Auditorium of Ranchi University on Thursday.

Kumar said that it has often been seen that rural voters participate in voting more cautiously than urban voters. Keeping this in mind, all the polling personnel have been trained in queue management system so that minimum number of voters have to remain in the queue to cast their vote. He said that through Election Quiz 2024, an effort has been made to increase the knowledge of young voters about voting.

Election Quiz 2024 was organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand in collaboration with Stats India on October 2, in which one participant each from all the districts of the state was selected from the examination conducted through online medium. Different rounds of competition were organized among these selected participants on Thursday in Aryabhatta Auditorium. In which the judges included Mr. Suraj Kumar, Registrar Co-operation Committees Jharkhand, Mr. Shashi Ranjan, State Project Director Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mrs. Gopika Anand, State State Icon PWD.

In the competition, Alisha Nishad of West Singhbhum, Chaibasa stood first, who got a prize of Rs 50 thousand, Naresh Prasad Yadav of Godda stood second, got a prize of Rs 30 thousand and Chandan Kumar of Khunti stood third, who got a prize of Rs 20 thousand. All the participants were given certificates along with the amount.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora, Sandeep Singh, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar along with officials of Chief Electoral Officer Office and Ranchi District Election Office were present.
