Jammu and Kashmir will soon get 'state' status again, Amit Shah assured

After this meeting, Omar Abdullah gave a statement that it was a courtesy gift. In which the Union Home Minister was given information about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the issue of restoring the situation in the state was discussed. In 2019, Jammu and Kashmir was made a union territory. Therefore its police force is under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Ministry.

Will also meet the Prime Minister

During his Delhi visit, Chief Minister Abdullah will meet several Union Ministers and is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the recently held Jammu and Kashmir Assembly meeting, Abdullah's party National Congress won 42 out of 90 seats.

Lieutenant Governor approved

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved the proposal of Abdullah cabinet to restore statehood. The final approval of which will be given by the Union Home Ministry. Most of the ministers have agreed to give status to the state.
