Farmers should not burn crop residues, rather manage them properly.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar Vashishtha has called upon the farmers of the district not to burn crop residues after harvesting the paddy crop. Burning of crop residues pollutes the environment and leads to shortage of fodder for animals. Rather, farmers should manage crop residues properly. Fodder for animals can also be made from crop residues and farmers can also earn additional income by making bales of crop residues with the help of agricultural machinery and selling them. The fertility of the land can also be increased by mixing crop residues with the soil.
