Cooperation of political parties is expected in compliance with Model Code of Conduct: Ravi Kumar

Ranchi, 23 October (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that all recognized political parties should provide a list of vehicles for their star campaigners in the assembly elections and store it with them. He said that the list of vehicles used by star campaigners must also be made available.

He was holding a meeting with representatives of all recognized political parties at Nirvachan Sadan today. Kumar said that political parties should provide comprehensive information about the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct to their candidates and workers. Cooperation is expected from all political parties in clean, fair and peaceful voting. He said that while calculating the expenditure incurred by the candidates on nomination as well as campaigning, ensure to follow the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.

In the meeting, Kumar learned about any problems or doubts faced by all the recognized political parties in the assembly elections. After this, following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, information regarding its resolution was also provided. On this occasion, to resolve all kinds of doubts related to the use of planes by star campaigners, he coordinated a meeting with Airport Authority officials and informed the representatives of political parties about all the necessary guidelines. It was also decided in the meeting that the next meeting of recognized political parties will be held on October 30 at 3 pm.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora, OSD Geeta Choubey, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Dev Das Dutta and representatives of all recognized political parties were present.
