Inauguration of two sections of Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, will be directly connected to Rajasthan port

Jaipur, March 11 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated two sections of the 53.3 km long 6-lane access controlled greenfield highway section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor at an event organized in Gurugram, Haryana. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in this program through video conferencing from a hotel in Ayodhya.

It is noteworthy that the development of Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor will establish direct connectivity of Rajasthan and especially the border districts of Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Barmer and Jalore with the major industrial cities and ports of Punjab and Gujarat. The development of this corridor will boost tourism and exports along with industrial development and new employment opportunities will be created.

Inauguration of 2 packages of Dabwali (Sirsa)-Pilibanga (Hanumangarh)—

This 917 km long access controlled greenfield highway is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs 22 thousand 500 crore. About 637 kilometers of which is passing through many districts of Rajasthan. There are 23 packages of this project in the state. Out of which 18 packages of 502 km length have already been dedicated to the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated two packages of this project, Dabwali (Sirsa)-Pilibanga (Hanumangarh) of approximately 53 km length and costing Rs 1799 crore.
