Hoshiarpur: The district police has arrested the son who absconded after killing his own mother on Sunday afternoon. Giving information during the press conference, District Police Chief Surendra Lamba said that on October 19, information was received about the murder of Kundla Devi's wife Gurdev Singh in Mohalla Dashmesh Nagar under Model Town police station. He told that he had started its investigation by forming a team based on Sarabjit Singh Bahia Vice Captain, Devdutt Sharma DSP and Inspector Gagandeep Singh.
He told that investigation revealed that his mother was murdered by her son Sonu Singh alias Sonu. He told that mentally disturbed Sonu wanted to marry his own aunt's daughter and his mother was not allowing this relationship, due to which, when his mother did not insist on marriage on Sunday, Sonu got upset with his mother. She murdered him, hit him on the head with a stick and locked the house and ran away. The police solved the case within 24 hours and arrested the accused.
