New Delhi: It has been agreed to implement the old agreement between India and Pakistan regarding Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for the next five years. The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday said that in view of the demand of pilgrims, India has once again asked the neighboring country not to charge any fee regarding the removal of service charge of US $ 20 per pilgrim imposed by Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs said that This agreement has been reached between India and Pakistan through diplomatic channels. Earlier on 24 October 2019, a five-year agreement was signed between the two countries.

BJP State President Sunil Jakhar has welcomed this decision of the Central Government. He has posted a post on his X account saying that the extension of this agreement for the next five years is a relief news for the Sikh community. Many thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. It is expected that Kartarpur Corridor will prove to be an important step towards reducing the distance between the two countries.
