Dhamtari, March 11 (HS). BJP councilors, upset with the Municipal Corporation meeting not being held, protested fiercely by beating drums in front of the Municipal Corporation office on Monday, March 11. BJP councilors say that the Municipal Corporation meeting has not been held for a year. Despite repeated attention being drawn in this regard, no action is being taken, now the date for the meeting has been fixed by the Mayor and the Chairman, and that too amidst the possible code of conduct. It seems that this date has been fixed only for the purpose of escaping from the meeting.
BJP councilors and workers staged a unique demonstration in front of the corporation office on March 11 by playing drums, drums and manjira, alleging that the date of March 28 was fixed with the intention of fleeing the budget meeting in view of the possible code of conduct. The protesters reached the SDM office singing Ramdhuni and submitted a memorandum to the Governor to dismiss the Chairman. BJP councilors demonstrated in the Municipal Corporation regarding the organization of the budget meeting and the un-started work worth Rs. 8 crores and organized 'Mayor Jagao' Ram Sankirtan program and played drums and drums.
After the peaceful musical demonstration, BJP councilors reached the SDM office singing Ramdhuni and submitted a memorandum to the Naib Tehsildar in the name of the Governor. In which it was said that the Chairman should be dismissed from the post. Four meetings have been held in the last four years. The rights of elected public representatives have been violated. In the last budget, Mayor Vijay Dewangan left the meeting. The meeting did not take place even after a year. Under pressure from the Mayor during the possible elections, the Chairman did not perform his constitutional duty and set the date of the meeting. Therefore, from the point of view of his impartiality and interest of the corporation, it is not appropriate for the Chairman to continue in the post. In the second memorandum, a demand has been made to provide special permission from the Chief Election Commissioner to conduct the budget meeting of the Municipal Corporation. So that in the interest of Dhamtari, the Mayor should be given time to conduct the budget meeting.
On this occasion, the Leader of Opposition said that he has come to bring wisdom to the Mayor. Because they are not concerned with development. There is no coordination between the Mayor and the Chairman. Former Chairman Rajendra Sharma said that the Mayor and the Chairman create unnecessary pressure for not holding meetings and doing unauthorized work in the corporation. Leader of Opposition Narendra Rohra, BJP City Mandal President Vijay Sahu, Councilor Shyama Sahu, Dhaniram Sonkar, Deepak Gajendra, Prachi Soni, Neelu Daga, Shyamlal Netam, Ajju Deshlehare, Mithlesh Sinha, Hemant Banjare, BJYM District President Kailash Sonkar, Suraj Sharma, participated in the demonstration. Gopal Sahu, Raju Chandrakar, Rajendra Kumar, Babulal Sahu, Netram Pade and others were present.
BJP people have nothing to do with the meeting: Vijay Dewangan
Mayor Vijay Dewangan termed the demonstration of BJP councilors as a gimmick and said that they have nothing to do with the corporation meeting. Because whenever there is a meeting, they leave the meeting and run away. His performance is ridiculous. They only lie. Earlier also they boasted about getting the money back, but it has not happened. The opposition itself is becoming a hindrance to the development works and getting the development works cancelled. The people of the city are aware of the performance of BJP councilors. They have a government in the state, if they want they can get an investigation done. The performance is just their mutual competition. They are doing this to increase their numbers in front of the party. There is a competition going on among the BJP councilors to move ahead by humiliating each other. He said that the opposition has sought time from the Election Commission. It's a good thing, take time. We agree to hold the meeting.

He said that the general body meeting of the corporation is conducted as per the constitution.
