Bijapur, March 11 (HS). In Awapalli of the district, under the Chief Minister Kanya Mass Marriage Scheme, 55 couples, including 02 Christians, 06 Hindus, 47 tribals, got married in the Integrated Child Development Project office in front of the community building. Whereas in Bhopalpatnam, marriage ceremony of 50 couples including 05 Christian, 02 Hindu and 43 tribal couples took place in the Community Hall complex.
During the event, the marriage took place in the presence of social heads and sub-divisional officers in Avapalli and public representatives, social heads and dignitaries in Bhopalpatnam. Today on Monday, a total of 105 couples became life partners of each other under the Chhattisgarh Government's ambitious scheme Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. During this, district officials, public representatives and community heads blessed and wished the newlywed couple a happy married life. During this, the newlyweds were given a check of Rs 21,000 each by the state government.
Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana is a very pleasant scheme for poor parents. Which frees parents from evil practices like marriage of their daughters and dowry. Poor parents got relief from today's costly marriage ceremonies. Under this scheme, a grant of Rs 50 thousand is sanctioned to each couple. Out of which Rs 21 thousand is paid as financial assistance through bank account. Similarly, Rs 15 thousand is spent on gift material, Rs 06 thousand is spent on bride and groom's makeup and clothes etc. and Rs 08 thousand is spent on wedding celebrations.
