A remarkable lecture program on valuable insights and employment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry was organized courtesy of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology. Dr. Vibhav Garg, Director of Health Economics and Government Affairs, India Hub & ASEAN at Boston Scientific, was the keynote speaker.
Keynote speaker Dr. Vibhav Garg delivered a lecture on employment opportunities for pharmacy students in the industry in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on Tuesday. He highlighted the regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, manufacturing, marketing and sales in medical devices and various employment opportunities available to pharmaceutical students in the industry. He suggested the students to enhance their skills through online certifications in relevant fields, building professional connections, using LinkedIn profile and their research projects etc. He also explained how a resume should be prepared and how students should approach various industries for jobs. Apart from pharmaceutical industry, students can enter into food industry, chemical industry, hospital industry, biotech and biopharma industry and discussed in detail the diverse roles of pharmaceutical sector. After the lecture, Dr. Vibhav Garg conducted mock interviews of B.Pharma and M.Pharma students and gave them tips about interview questions and how they should prepare for the interview.
Head of Department Prof. Sunil Sharma said that through this seminar, about 70 participants gained information about the skills and qualifications required to be successful in the pharmacy profession. He expressed his gratitude to the keynote speaker Dr. Vibhav Garg and said that such lectures help in motivating the students and providing them information about the industry scenario.
