Bhopal, 22 October (HS). Faizal alias Faizan, accused of raising slogans in support of Pakistan, reached Misrod police station in Bhopal on Tuesday and saluted the tricolor 21 times. Along with this he also raised the slogan of Bharat Mata ki Jai. The accused did this on the instructions of the High Court. Faizan reached Misrod police station at ten in the morning, where the police first completed the paperwork with him. After this the process of saluting the tricolor was done.
In fact, 40-year-old Faizal Khan, who runs a puncture shop in Misrod, had raised slogans in support of Pakistan, after which the police registered a case on May 17 and arrested him. The police had taken action against the youth under Section 153B (giving speech against national integration). Faizal alias Faizan was accused of raising slogans in support of Pakistan and against India and by doing so he tried to promote enmity between two communities. His act is against national unity and harmony. After this, the police investigated the case and presented the charge sheet in the trial court. After the bail was canceled by the court, the accused had presented a bail application in the High Court. While opposing the bail plea, the government said that video recording of sloganeering by the accused is available. In the video records, he can clearly be heard shouting slogans. Apart from this, 14 criminal cases are also registered against him. The petitioner is of criminal nature.
After hearing both the parties, the single bench of Justice DK Paliwal granted conditional bail to the accused on a bond of Rs 50,000. He had said in his order that the accused Faizan will reach the police station twice a month (on the first and fourth Tuesday) and salute the national flag 21 times and raise the slogan of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. Faizan, who reached Misrod police station, said that he regretted his actions. He will continue to follow the court orders. He also clarified that this specific condition has been imposed so that the accused develops a sense of responsibility and is filled with pride towards the country in which he was born and lives.
