CGHS: The central government has given great news to the employees before Diwali. Actually, the scope of services of CGHS and ECHS has been increased by the government. Now central employees will be able to get their treatment in 40 private hospitals, nursing homes and diagnostic centres. Along with this, a list of those 40 hospitals has also been released, read the complete news to know which hospitals are included in it.

40 new private hospitals added for CGHS and ECHS

For information, let us tell you that the government has included 40 hospitals in its list. The rate list of all these hospitals will be the same for the employees covered under CGHS and ECHS. Besides, the government will also bear the expenses of treatment later. This decision was taken in the recent meeting of the screening committee.

The Managing Director of ECHS has received formal orders regarding the list of new hospitals included in this panel. This process has been done under the guidelines of the Defense Ministry, according to which hospital and treatment services will be provided to the ECHS beneficiaries. Now 40 private hospitals, nursing homes and diagnostic centers have been added to the number of ECHS.

All employees will be able to get treatment at reduced rates

All empaneled hospitals and diagnostic centers will have to follow the terms and conditions prescribed by the Ministry of Defense including service rates. The rate list of treatment will be as per the rates approved by the committee. CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) rates will also be adjusted. That means ECHS employees will also be able to get treatment at the same rate at which CGHS employees are treated in private hospitals. The list of these 40 hospitals has also been included in CGHS.

Additionally, hospitals which are already empaneled with CGHS must provide certification of their CGHS status at the time of signing the contract with ECHS. The status of CGHS empaneled hospitals will remain valid as long as their CGHS accreditation is active, and their agreement can also be renewed. NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) accredited services will also be listed with ECHS, which will remain valid for the period of their NABH certification. This step is an important step towards providing more facilities and better healthcare services to ECHS members.

What is the difference between CGHS and ECHS?

CGHS and ECHS are both health schemes of the Government of India, but they serve different groups. CGHS is for central government employees and their families, while ECHS is for retired military personnel and their dependents. ECHS has more empaneled hospitals than CGHS, including hospitals in remote areas.
