Junior Doctor Hunder Strike: There was a hunger strike of junior doctors in West Bengal regarding the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, which has now ended. The doctors have ended the strike after meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. It is noteworthy that in this case the junior doctor was on an indefinite hunger strike in Dharmatalla for the last 17 days.
The meeting lasted for two hours
West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant on Saturday (October 19) invited junior doctors to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today (October 21). A total time of 45 minutes was allotted to the delegation of junior doctors for this meeting with Mamata Banerjee. However, the meeting of junior doctors with the Chief Minister lasted for two hours.
The doctor was on hunger strike since October 5
A doctor involved in the strike said, 'Our delegation held a meeting with CM Banerjee regarding the positive tests and our meeting was successful. It is noteworthy that the junior doctors at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital were on hunger strike since October 5 regarding the case of rape and murder of a junior female doctor.
