RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore have a new problem in their preparations for the IPL 2025 mega auction. It is reported that the Karnataka government is pressurizing the RCB team to make local players a part of the team and give them high priority. It is reported that the Karnataka government has directed the RCB franchise to allow Vijaykumar Vaishakh and Manoj Bhanda from Karnataka.
These two anonymous players received Rs. It seems that the Karnataka government has put pressure on the RCB franchise to buy the team at a price of Rs 4 crore. RCB management is not able to understand what to do with the demand of Karnataka government. RCB Board of Directors has expressed its opinion that due to this demand the team's plans will be affected.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the retention rules for the IPL 2025 mega auction. There is a chance to retain the six old players in the team. A maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players are allowed in this. As per the rules, it can be kept directly at the fixed price or can be bought back in the auction through RTM card.
But the retained players will have to pay Rs 18 crore, Rs 14 crore and Rs 11 crore respectively. If the team wants to buy the fourth and fifth players then they will have to pay Rs 18 crore and Rs 14 crore. BCCI has given up the idea of paying more than this fixed price to the franchises.
BCCI has asked ten franchises to submit their retention lists by October 31. IPL wants to hold auction on 30th November. RCB wants to retain players like Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Cameron Green, Rajat Patidar, Akash Deep, Yash Dayal. The demand of Karnataka government can be ignored in the RCB retention process. But there is a chance to buy boys from Karnataka in the auction. RCB is plotting to buy local brother KL Rahul.
