Srinagar, 21 October H.S. National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday strongly condemned the Gangagir terrorist attack in which seven people including a doctor were killed. Farooq said that such attacks cannot lead to merger of Kashmir with Pakistan.
On Sunday, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a camp of workers of an infrastructure company. This attack has been termed as the deadliest attack of this year.
Farooq said that Kashmir can never become a part of Pakistan. Farooq said that if Pakistan leadership is really interested in friendship with India then it should stop killing innocent people. They tried to do this by sending in rebels in 1947 and have been trying to do so ever since. Have they succeeded? He said what was the fault of those killed? Dr. Farooq said that Pakistan should take care of its people and leave Kashmir for Kashmiris. He said that we want to serve the people, eliminate poverty and suffering. You are killing innocent people here. Dr. Farooq said that such actions will definitely impact not only tourism but also the lives of every person living in Kashmir. The Ganggir attack took place on the day when the first international athletic event was held in Kashmir. Presently there are 50 interurban routes in Srinagar.
