Jaipur, 21 October (Hindustan Reporter). Rajasthan High Court has summoned the reply from the Managing Director of Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited and others in the matter related to not promoting meter reader to the post of Estimator. A single bench of Justice Anup Kumar Dhand gave this order while conducting the preliminary hearing on the petition of Prahlad Singh.
In the petition, advocate Yogesh Kumar Taylor told the court that the petitioner had worked as a meter reader as a laborer in the electricity company. The petitioner was not appointed by the department to the post of Estimator in March, 1992, while an employee junior to him was promoted.
On this, the petitioner made repeated representations to the department requesting for promotion, but no action was taken on it. On this, he submitted a reference to the Industrial Disputes Tribunal through the labor union, which was decided recently and the tribunal refused to grant relief to the petitioner. On this, a petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of the petitioner requesting him to be promoted. While hearing the matter, the single bench has sought reply from the concerned officials.
