Kiev: Ukrainian President Zelensky has decided to end the war with Russia. For this he has prepared a winning plan. Western countries have mixed reactions to the plan.
Zelensky has outlined that plan abroad. It said Ukraine should be formally invited to join NATO, while also being allowed to use long-range missiles to attack Russia.
Both of these steps are measures that Kiev's allies are already reluctant to take. If Zelensky has got the support of other countries on his proposals, then it is necessary to get the support of America first. Analysts say that it is not possible for Biden to take any decision before the presidential elections to be held in America on November 5. Zelensky, on the other hand, believes that his proposals should be supported before peace talks with Russia, so that he can have leverage in negotiations.
It is noteworthy that America has not shown any commitment regarding those proposals. But the new $4.25 billion package for Ukraine was announced the same day Zelensky presented the plan to lawmakers.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that it is not my job to publicly evaluate that plan.
There were two conflicting reactions, starting with clear support and clear opposition from European countries. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Birot said in Kiev on Saturday that he would work with Ukrainian officials to rally other countries in support of the resolution.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has refused to provide long-range missiles named 'Toros' to Kiev. He said we are prepared to defend Ukraine, but if those missiles are used against Russia, we ask that those missiles not lead to a full-scale war.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has not said it clearly, but he has called that plan terrible. It is well known that Victor Auburn has a very good relationship with Putin.
