Katihar, 19 October (Hindustan Reporter). Railway Protection Force (RPF) has intensified security operations in Katihar Railway Division area regarding the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festival. On the instructions of RPF Commandant Kamal Singh, a team has been formed and intensive checking is being done.

Under the leadership of RPF Inspector Rakesh Kumar, by roaming around the station and railway premises through announcement through mike and video conference, to create awareness among the passengers, to keep the station and train alert from pickpockets, mobile thieves and vicious people of drug addict gang and from unknown persons. RPF Commandant Kamal Singh said on Saturday evening that in the month of October, RPF has set a record by succeeding in arresting 601 people under a special operation in Katihar Railway Division area. Apart from this, 34 passengers have been arrested for illegally traveling in women and handicapped coaches.

Apart from this RPF has arrested many criminals, including theft of railway property, ticket acrobatics and other crimes. RPF is always ready to provide better service to the passengers 24×7. Apart from this, Sardar Ahmed has also been arrested in the case registered in RPF East Post regarding the incident that took place in Ahmedabad on 09 October.

Commandant Kamal Singh said that due to the security operation of RPF in Katihar Railway Division, passengers are experiencing safe and secure travel.
