Mercury in Lahaul-Spiti 0.1 degrees, weather will worsen on October 22

Shimla, 19 October (Hindustan Reporter). It is extremely cold in the tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh and the mercury is hovering around the freezing point. Due to the havoc of cold in these parts, the water of natural water sources has started freezing. Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti district recorded a minimum temperature of 0.1 degree Celsius on Saturday. Last night the temperature here was in minus.

The mercury in other cities of tribal areas also continues to fall. Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, recorded 2.9 degrees, Kukumseri 1.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur 4.6 degrees, Samdho 5.9 degrees, Reckong Peo 8.8 degrees, Sarahan 9.5 degrees. The nights have become cold even in tourist cities. On Saturday, the mercury was 9.1 degrees Celsius in Manali, 8.8 degrees in Narkanda, 9.9 degrees in Kufri and 12 degrees Celsius in Shimla. Talking about other cities, the minimum temperature was 13.1 degrees in Sundernagar, 11.3 degrees in Bhuntar, 15 degrees in Dharamshala, 14.8 degrees in Una, 18.3 degrees in Nahan, 12 degrees in Palampur, 10.3 degrees in Solan, 14.3 degrees in Kangra, Mandi. 15.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bilaspur, 15.8 degrees in Hamirpur, 13.8 degrees in Chamba, 12.3 degrees in Dalhousie, 14 degrees in Jubbarhatti, 16.2 degrees in Dhaula Kuan, 15 degrees in Barthin and 14.5 degrees Celsius in Kasauli. It is a matter of relief that the weather remains pleasant due to sunshine in the entire state.

The weather department has predicted dry weather for the next two days. There will be a change in the weather due to the activation of western disturbance on 22 October. There is a possibility of rain in eight districts. These include Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts. During this period, snowfall is expected in the high mountain areas.
