Mumbai: National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). To become a teacher in degree colleges across the country, it is necessary to pass this examination. This examination was conducted from 21st August to 5th September. The result of which has been declared on 17 October.
11 lakh students had filled the form for this examination. Out of which 6.84 lakh students had given the examination. Qualified students can pursue PhD in any university across the country. The NET exam was conducted in 280 cities across the country over 11 days using the online CBT method.
Out of the total passed students, 4970 students are eligible for Junior Research Fellowship and 53,694 students are eligible for Assistant Professor post. 1,12,070 students are eligible for Ph.D. This result has been declared on the website of NTA.
