New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia on October 22-23 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the 16th BRICS summit.
Since Chinese President Xi Jinping will also participate in this summit, Modi and Xi will be face to face. The BRICS summit is being held in Kazan, Russia.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing has said that Xi Jinping will participate in the BRICS summit. Let us tell you that after the BRICS summit held in Johannesburg in August last year, there was a brief informal conversation between Xi Jinping and Modi.
It is noteworthy that the BRICS summit includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. There is a possibility of brief informal talks between Modi and Xi in the summit to be held in Russia. However, no official statement has been made by India or China in this regard.
For the last four years, there has been a confrontation between the armies of India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with Putin and the ongoing war in Ukraine is likely to be discussed in this talk.
