Balbir Ram Ratan, National General Secretary of Guru Ravidas Vishwa Mahapeeth and former Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir SC, ST, BC Development Corporation, said this while paying tribute to Maharishi Valmiki while visiting Lord Valmiki Temple in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. He was also accompanied by Vijay Anand Gill, President of Jammu and Kashmir Valmiki Samaj, General Secretary of Guru Ravidas Sabha, Upper Gumat, Jammu, Adarsh Jathiyar and other prominent social workers.

Discussing the contribution of Maharishi Valmiki in the field of literature, Balbir Ram Ratan said that he had composed Ramayana, one of the great religious scriptures of Hindus, which is the most revered writing. He emphasized on inspiring the youth to know the lives of Indian saints so that they can achieve progress and prosperity.
