Jammu, 18 October (Hindustan Reporter). Former MLC and Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson Girdhari Lal Raina strongly condemned the Congress party for its alleged double standards towards Kashmiri Pandits (KP) and PoJK displaced people. Raina accused the Congress and the Indi block of promoting division and pain for these communities whose displacement and suffering has gone on for decades.
Raina recently highlighted a controversy where the Congress, through senior leader Ravinder Sharma, filed a petition in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court challenging the power of the Lieutenant Governor to nominate members to the Assembly – which is based in Jammu and Kashmir. There is an essential provision for fair representation under the Reorganization Act. Congress continues to oppose these measures despite the Supreme Court previously rejecting a similar petition.
He reminded how Congress and National Conference opposed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in Parliament while prominent leaders like Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Manish Tewari and Vivek Tankha actively pushed for provisions benefiting displaced communities. Opposed. Raina criticized the opposition's baseless arguments and pointed out their failure to support the legitimate claims of people who have been suffering injustice for 70 years. Raina said that the hatred of Congress and Indi Bloc towards the displaced communities on the basis of religious prejudice has once again been exposed.
