Bhagalpur, 18 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Friday, District Officer Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary flagged off the LED van from Bhagalpur Collectorate premises with the aim of creating awareness among the general public on the issues of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, child marriage and dowry abolition etc. On this occasion, Additional Collector Disaster, Joint Director Public Relations, Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer, District Program Officer ICDS and other senior officers and personnel of the district were present.
While addressing the gathering present on this occasion, the District Officer told that due to the decreasing birth rate/population of daughters, it is having an adverse effect on the social structure of our society. Similarly, child marriage i.e. marriage before the age of 18 years not only adversely affects the health of girls, but their future generations i.e. children also do not become completely healthy physically and mentally. Such children do not have balanced development (mentally and physically). Propaganda is being spread with the aim of ending such evils in our society and making common citizens aware of these evils.
District Program Officer ICDS informed that Wayne will go to all the blocks to campaign. For this, all the block office premises of each block and apart from this, four other crowded places have been identified. Where at this stop, short films will be shown to the common citizens, which will be related to the subjects like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, child marriage, dowry abolition etc. Female supervisor of the concerned block has also been deputed at the identified sites.
