Actress Malvika entered the South Indian film industry after working in famous filmmaker Majid Majidi's film 'Beyond the Clouds'. In recent times, his Hindi films 'Yudhra' and 'Thangalan' were released.
Malvika says that my career started with South films. It is not that I did not get offers from Hindi films. But I am very cautious about my work. I play only select roles. If I get a chance to work with a top actor, but I don't like his story, I don't accept that film just for the sake of doing it wholeheartedly. I am now at a stage in my career where I have the scope to work with creators of my choice and work on projects that I love. I am going to debut in a Telugu film with Prabhas. Although earlier I had received many offers from Telugu films. But I wanted to make a grand entry so waited for a better offer. The actress further says that I am getting good films in Tamil also. My 'Yudhra' has been released recently in Hindi. My film 'Thangalan' is also being liked a lot.
Malvika says that I am happy that I am doing many films and my look is different in all the films. I have also done such films in which I can present myself as an ideal artiste. I am also doing a film in which my look is glamorous. I believe that to survive in this industry for a long time, one should give more importance to performance than looks. I have worked hard for 'Thangalan'. We used to wake up at three in the morning and reach the set at four o'clock. After this, four to five hours were spent on makeup and costume. I also had to wear a wig. Not only this, I had to perform stunts without wearing shoes, hence my feet were in pain every day. But I am tasting the sweet fruits of doing all this.
