Former Prime Minister of neighboring country Pakistan and PTI leader Imran Khan has suffered another setback. Britain's Oxford University is out of the race for the post of Chancellor. The university has announced the list of eligible candidates for the upcoming Chancellor election, in which the name of Imran Khan is not included. Earlier, Imran Khan had surprised everyone by applying for this post from jail.
However, it is a matter of happiness for India that this time three Indian names are included in the race for the post of Chancellor. The names of Indian-origin Ankur Shiv Bhandari, Professor Nirpal Singh Paul Banghal and Prateek Tarwadi are included in the list of Oxford University. The reason for disqualifying Imran Khan's name has not been clearly stated, but many experts believe that he may be disqualified for the post due to criminal cases against him in Pakistan.
University system changed application process
Apart from this, former Conservative Party leader Lord William Hague and former Labor leader Lord Peter Mandelson are in the race for Chancellor. Senior politicians are also included. University officials said open applications were invited for the first time and all applications were reviewed as per the rules of the Chancellor's Selection Committee.
The election of Chancellor of Oxford University will be held on October 28.
The first phase of voting for the post of Chancellor of Britain's world famous Oxford University will begin on October 28 and the Chancellor will be announced on November 25. Therefore, during this period, the voting process will be completed as per the applicants on 4th November and 18th November also.
