Chief Minister inaugurated a project worth Rs 107.87 crore and laid the foundation stone of a scheme worth Rs 405.52 crore.

Katihar, 16 October (Hindustan Reporter). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several projects simultaneously from Lakshmipur Panchayat under Barari block of Katihar district. In which 52 projects built at a cost of Rs 107.87 crore were inaugurated and the foundation stone of 182 projects built at a cost of Rs 405.52 crore was laid.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of all the schemes through remote control from the venue of the program, Laxmipur in Barari. The Chief Minister inaugurated the ceremony of distribution of Basgeet pamphlets among 5100 families displaced by Ganga and erosion.

The projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister include construction of roads in 14 rural areas by the Rural Works Department at a cost of Rs 47.62 crore, additional building of a district guest house built by the General Administration Department at a cost of Rs 5.23 crore, Directorate of Planning and Training (Labor Tech Lab and Workshop (Centre of Excellence) in Women ITI by Resource Department) at a cost of Rs 5.93 crore, Joint Planning Building by Planning and Development Department at a cost of Rs 0.997 crore, 11 Panchayat Government Buildings by Panchayati Raj Department at a cost of Rs 38.56 crore and Others, three model police stations are being constructed by Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation at a cost of Rs 9.53 crore.

The schemes for which the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone included construction of roads in 47 rural areas by the Rural Affairs Department at a cost of Rs 53.23 crore, 70 Panchayat Government buildings and others by the Panchayati Raj Department at a cost of Rs 213.50 crore, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department at a cost of Rs 11.13 crore. Building of District Level Resource and Training Center in District Animal Husbandry Campus at a cost of Rs.

This includes laying the foundation stone of 13 model police stations and others by Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation at a cost of Rs 19.80 crore.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that in today's program, land certificates are being given to more than five thousand erosion affected families. An assistance amount of more than Rs 150 crore is being provided to Jeevika Didis associated with self-help groups in Katihar to further their work. Under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, about Rs 4 crore is being given to about 900 families to start their own employment.

He said that due to erosion of Ganga and Koshi rivers in Katihar district, it was said that there was no land available for the displaced families to live. I am satisfied that all the problems are being resolved.

Arrangements are being made for food for the flood affected people and fodder for their animals. He said that all this did not happen earlier. Since 2005, when NDA government was formed in Bihar, each and every problem is being solved.

The Chief Minister said that the disaster victims have the first right on the state treasury. An amount of Rs 532 crore has been sent directly from Patna to the accounts of seven and a half lakh families in the entire state at the rate of seven and a half thousand rupees per family. But when we look at Katihar district, an amount of Rs 46 crore has been sent to more than 66 thousand families. This amount will provide a lot of relief to the flood victims.

Nitish Kumar said that the officials of the Disaster Management Department have also been instructed to identify the farmers whose crops have been damaged due to floods and the compensation for crop damage will be sent to their accounts before Diwali.

The Chief Minister ordered the officials to take action regarding setting up zonal offices in the new block offices in Barari, Kursela and Sameli. Besides, the officers were also ordered to take necessary action regarding the construction of a bridge near Devra Ghat in Barari block.
