In the assembly elections, Surinder Singh Chaudhary has been elected from Nowshera assembly seat of Rajouri district. Surendra Chaudhary defeated Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina from Nowshera seat. Surinder Singh Choudhary has got the reward of defeating the biggest face of BJP in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as Deputy Chief Minister. In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Surinder Singh Chaudhary and Ravinder Raina also contested from Nowshera seat. Then a fight broke out between the two leaders.
