Emergency landing of Chief Election Commissioner's helicopter: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar's helicopter has made an emergency landing in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. Due to bad weather, his helicopter landed at Ralam in Munsiyari. The helicopter of the Chief Election Commissioner was heading towards Milam. State Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande was also present with him.

Let us tell you that the Chief Election Commissioner has announced the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections a day before i.e. on 15th October. Meanwhile, he also answered questions related to EVM. He said that we will respond to the complaints regarding EVMs in Haryana elections. Every complaint will be responded to in writing. EVMs are checked not once but several times.
25th Chief Election Commissioner of the country
Let us tell you that Rajiv Kumar is the 25th Chief Election Commissioner of the country. He is part of the Election Commission as the Election Commissioner since 1 September 2020. He assumed charge on 15 May 2022 and will hold the post till 18 February 2025. According to the Constitution, the tenure of the Election Commissioner is six years or till the age of 65 years.
