New Delhi: Ahead of the announcement of Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly election dates, Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Tuesday demanded that voting should be conducted through ballot paper.
He said that if Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is used then the BJP government and the Election Commission can do anything. Rashid Alvi said that if Israel can kill people by clearing pagers, then anything can happen. Rashid also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has very good relations with Israel.
EVMs are completely safe – Election Commissioner
The Election Commission has announced the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections on Tuesday. While announcing the election dates, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar expressed his views on the reliability of EVMs.
He said that EVM is completely safe. Kumar said that nowadays questions are coming that when pager can be blown then how can EVMs not be hacked.
The Election Commission has responded to the claim of Congress' Rashid Alvi.
