New Delhi, March 11 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in the country's Millennium City Gurugram (Haryana) today (Monday) afternoon. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 112 National Highway projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore being expanded in the country at 12 noon. During this, he will dedicate to the nation the Haryana section of Dwarka-Expressway prepared between Delhi-Gurugram on National Highway-48. This information has been shared in the Press Information Bureau (PIB) release and on the X handle of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
According to the Press Information Bureau, the construction of the 19 km long Haryana section of the eight-lane Dwarka Expressway has cost Rs 4,100 crore. The project comprises two packages of 10.2 km long Delhi-Haryana border to Basai Rail Overbridge (ROB) and 8.7 km long same ROB to Kherki Daula. It will also provide direct connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Gurugram bypass.
Other major projects to be inaugurated today include the 9.6 km long six-lane Urban Extension Road-II Package Three from Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka stretch in Delhi. Apart from this, development of three packages of Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 4,600 crore, development of Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of National Highway-16 at a cost of Rs 2,950 crore in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Rs 3,400 crore in Himachal Pradesh Kiratpur to Nerchowk section (second package) of National Highway-21, Karnataka along with Rs 2,750 crore Dobaspet – Heskote section (two packages) along with 42 other projects worth Rs 20,500 crore in various states across the country.
According to PIB, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of various national highway projects in the country. These include Rs 14,000 crore Bengaluru-Cuddapah-Vijayawada Expressway (14th package) in Andhra Pradesh, Rs 8,000 crore Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur section of National Highway-748A (6th package) in Karnataka, Rs 4,900 crore Shamli-Ambala in Haryana. National Highways (package three), Amritsar-Bathinda Corridor (second package) worth Rs 3,800 crore in Punjab and 39 other projects worth Rs 32,700 crore in various states of the country. These projects will contribute significantly to the development of the National Highway Network. It will also cooperate in promoting socio-economic development in the country, increase employment opportunities and promote trade and commerce in various areas across the country.
