Conclusion of nutrition and education training program for Anganwadi workers

Jammu, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). The valedictory function of a three day training program for Anganwadi workers under the theme “Nutrition Bhi Padhai Bhi” was organized at Dansal, Domel in collaboration with NIPCCD Mohali. The event was organized by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Dansal, Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal, and attended by key dignitaries including Mission Director Nutrition J&K, Kishori Lal Sharma, Joint Director Vinod Kumar Benhal and PO ICDS Jammu Pankaj Anand.

Mission Director Nutrition J&K Kishori Lal Sharma appreciated the efforts of the master trainers for imparting vital knowledge under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi initiative. He emphasized on a paradigm shift in the focus of the department from providing only nutrition to providing quality early childhood education under the Early Childhood Care and Nutrition (ECCE) framework. He explained in detail about the ECCE curriculum which consists of two modules: for children of 0 -3 years of age and for children of 3-6 years of age. Joint Director Vinod Kumar Benhal urged the Anganwadi workers to apply the knowledge gained during the training so as to make Anganwadi centers vibrant centers of early childhood education.

Pankaj Anand, PO Nutrition Project Jammu said that this training program which started on July 1, 2024 has now been completed in all the projects of Jammu division. He stressed the importance of improving health and nutrition parameters for targeted gains.
