Indian Army empowers youth through organizing volleyball league

Rajouri, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). Indian Army organized Pir Panjal Volleyball League for boys of Kandi area of ​​Rajouri district. The objective of the event was to engage the youth from remote villages of Rajouri district and motivate them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The event was a historic step towards empowering local young boys to pursue a career in sports. The Pir Panjal Volleyball League for boys was a two-day event which started with four teams from Kandi. All the participating teams showed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship during the volleyball tournament. Volleyball tournaments have always been a crowd pleaser with local villagers cheering for their respective players.

The final match of Pir Panjal Volleyball League for boys was played between Government Higher Secondary School Samote vs Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School Kotranka. After a thrilling contest, the team of Government Higher Secondary School, Samote won the tournament. At the end of the competition, the players of the winning and runner-up teams were honored.

The event was very successful and a total of 254 (including 192 locals, 54 students/participants and 08 teachers) visitors witnessed the event. Such positive participation keeps the inquisitive young minds away from getting involved in issues related to drug abuse, illegal activities and channelizes the energy of youth in a positive direction, boosts competitive skills and keeps them away from anti-national and Prevents people from falling into the trap of anti-social elements.

The youth and local people of the area expressed their gratitude to the Army for organizing Pir Panjal Volleyball League for boys at Kotranka and this noble initiative towards effective youth participation.
