Last week, an Air India Express flight from Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah developed a technical glitch with its landing gear, forcing the plane to circle for more than two hours before landing. There were 140 passengers on board the plane.
After landing, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) deboarded and inspected the aircraft. Air India Express Flight 613 took off at 5:30 pm and landed safely at around 8:15 pm. Alternative flight arrangements have been made for the passengers.
However, an Air India Express spokesperson said, “We acknowledge the media reports regarding the Air India Express flight on the Tiruchirappalli-Sharjah route and would like to clarify that no emergency was declared by the operating crew.”
