Bottled water sold in the name of 'mineral water' is dangerous for kidneys, can deplete B12, know the rules

No guidelines are followed

As per Indian Food Safety and Standards guidelines, water sold in this way must be sealed and carry details such as name of the product, address of the processor, batch number, method of treatment, how long the water is kept, etc. Best to use. But no such details are available in it. Many times these 20 liter water bottles are filled with water without cleaning and sold to new customers.

No action is taken by the Food Safety Department

In many areas of Ahmedabad, factories selling bottled water are flourishing without any restriction. In such a situation, no action is taken by the Food Safety Department against those selling unbranded water or they turn a blind eye.

Risk of water borne diseases by drinking such water

In this regard, former president of Ahmedabad Medical Association, Dr. Mehul Shalat said, 'Thus the possibility of mineral balance in carba water sold without brand is negligible. Due to which drinking this water can spoil the mineral balance of our body. According to WHO, drinking water should contain elements like salt, calcium, sodium, boron, but the question is whether these will remain intact in this unbranded carba water. By drinking this type of water, there is a risk of waterborne diseases, B12 deficiency, effects on kidneys, side effects on liver, cancer etc.
