Jigra controversy: Alia Bhatt's recently released film 'Jigra' is surrounded in controversies. As soon as it was released, it became a topic of discussion on social media. Earlier, actress Divya Khosla Kumar had accused Alia Bhatt of manipulating box office figures. Now an actor has made serious allegations against the makers of 'Jigra'.
What allegation did the actor make?
Manipur actor Bijou Thangjam, who has been a part of 'Mary Kom', 'Shivaay', 'Rocketry' and others, has accused the makers of casting him for a role in 'Jigra' but after the shooting began He was never contacted.
The actor said, 'I am not writing this with any agenda or accusation. I just want to share the reality of how big production houses treat actors from the Northeast like me. Hopefully, this gives some idea of what we face.
The actor's booking was till December.
Bijou Thangjam wrote in his ex-post, 'In the year 2023, a casting team contacted me to audition for a role. I sent them my tapes twice in four months. By the end of November, they told me I would be shooting in December. Apart from this he never gave me any fixed date of shooting. However, they booked me for the entire month of December, expecting that I would be ready to shoot for them at any time. As a person living in Imphal, Manipur, I had made it clear from the beginning that travel arrangements needed to be made, but it seems it made no difference.'
The actor also accused of discrimination
Bijou Thangjam further said, 'The last time the casting team messaged me was on 26th December. In which it was written to wait for the reply. After that no message came from him.
The actor further said, 'I understand how big production houses work. The director is undoubtedly talented, but the way he handled the entire situation was extremely unprofessional. For an artist like me from the North-East, this felt especially discriminatory. My time was wasted and I lost other opportunities because I could have been there on time when they called me.
