Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences 2024: US-based economists Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson and James Robinson were awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences on Monday for their excellent work on wealth inequality between two countries.
The Nobel Committee said that these academicians have presented useful information about how weak law and order in the society is hindering population growth and not improving the standard of living. He has underlined the importance of social institutions for the prosperity of the country.
Acemoglu and Johnson are professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while Robinson is director of the Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflict in Chicago. In which he specializes in Sub-Saharan African and Latin American economies.
