Babar Azam has been dropped from the Pakistan team. He will not be a part of the team in the second test match against England. The new selection committee of PCB decided to drop Babar Azam from the team in view of his poor performance. The Pakistani team is divided into two parts on the PCB's decision to drop Babar. Many Pakistani players including Test team coach Jason Gillespie are angry with this decision.
Cricketers sitting outside the Pakistan team have also targeted the PCB over its decision to drop Babar Azam. Although many Pakistani cricketers are not happy with the PCB, Australian cricketer Brad Hogg believes that whatever the PCB did was good.
Bread hogs happy with removal of Babar Azam!
If Brad Hogg is to be believed, he seems happy with the PCB. It is good that Babar Azam was dropped from the team. Brad Hogg also gave the reasoning behind this statement, which is a befitting reply to those who are defending Babar by comparing him to Virat.
Brad Hogg said on his ax handle that even when Virat Kohli was in bad form, Team India was winning the matches. Nevertheless, they remained the second best team with the highest winning percentage. Pakistan team is the second team with the worst win percentage because Babar Azam is going through a bad phase. Obviously when the winning percentage is bad then tough decisions have to be taken. PCB has also done the same by excluding Babar Azam.
Many Pakistani cricketers including Fakhar Zaman were angry with this decision.
Babar Azam has scored 352 runs in 17 innings since 2023 at an average of 20.71. Due to his poor performance the PCB decided to drop him. But, the attitude of many Pakistani players is unhappy with this decision. Fakhar Zaman said that when Virat was going through a bad phase. Despite his average of 19.33, Team India did not bench him. The absence of their best batsman has had a negative impact on the morale of the team. This will be the second time since his debut in 2016 and the first time since June 2018 that Babar Azam has been dropped from the team. Whereas Pak team will be seen playing any test without him.
