On the PM Gati Shakti Yojana, launched three years ago to create world-class infrastructure in the country, the Prime Minister rightly said that it is a transformative initiative and through this, India is developing rapidly in all sectors. Certainly, this ambitious plan has achieved remarkable success in the last three years.
Due to the coordination of more than a dozen ministries, the scheme has been successful not only in taking forward infrastructure related schemes but also in reducing the cost of goods transportation and moving goods from one place to another. Reducing shipping time. To realize the dream of a developed India, creation of infrastructure as per the needs of the country is an essential condition.
The success of this scheme can be evaluated by the fact that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have also agreed to use PM mobility for their infrastructure development. The good thing is that after completion of three years of PM Gati Shakti Yojana, district level schemes related to infrastructure will also be included in the next phase of this scheme.
It is necessary to do this because there is still a lack of coordination among various departments at the district level. Due to this, sometimes the plans start getting delayed. Similarly, problems also arise due to lack of coordination between them.
This increases the cost of infrastructure projects and also takes more time. Now that a pilot project is being prepared in each district of the states to take forward district level projects related to infrastructure in all the states, the requirement should also be met that party based politics should not come into play in such projects. Way nor departmental differences.
It would be appropriate to make a provision whereby each scheme related to infrastructure is evaluated and reviewed in the same manner as is done under the PM Dynamic Scheme. There is no doubt that the PM Dynamic Scheme has proved helpful in establishing coordination between various ministries and publicizing the schemes properly, but under this scheme it should also be seen that whatever construction is done with respect to infrastructure. Whether they are capable of meeting future requirements or not.
This question arises because it is seen in the projects related to roads that after some time the construction work is done, the need to expand it or prepare an equivalent plan is felt. Under PM Gati Shakti Yojana, there is also a need to see that the quality of the construction work being done is world class.
