Lawrence Bishnoi gang's claim

Mumbai: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed that Baba Siddiqui, former Maharashtra minister, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and personal friend of several Bollywood stars, was murdered himself. A social media post by the Bishnoi gang claimed that Siddiqui was killed for supporting Salman Khan. Others who supported Salman have also faced similar fate in future. However, the police have started efforts to verify the veracity of these claims. On the other hand, investigation has also been started regarding other aspects including business rivalry, rivalry in slum redevelopment works. Police arrested two shooters, one of whom has been remanded till October 21, while the other has undergone age verification, claiming to be a minor. The third shooter is absconding while the identity of the accused who paid for the gun is also being claimed. Preliminary investigation has also revealed that the accused was living in Mumbai for the last one and a half months and he had committed the murder in a pre-planned manner. Siddiqui's body was handed over to his family today after postmortem and his last rites were performed tonight.

Two accused, who shot from close range at Siddiqui, who was traveling in a bulletproof car, have been arrested. While two others are absconding, Gurmail Baljeet Singh (age 23) from Haryana and Dharamraj Rajesh Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh have been picked up by the police. While Shivkumar Gautam and Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, who were involved in the incident, are absconding. During the Dussehra procession, firecrackers were burst during the Durga immersion procession. That's why most people did not hear the sound of bullets.

The court today granted police custody to an accused till October 21. While the age of the second accused is said to be 17 years, his medical examination has been ordered.

A case has been registered at Bandra's Nirmalnagar police station under sections 3, 25, 5, 23 of the Indian Judicial Code, Arms Act, sections 37, 137 and Maharashtra Police Act.

Three shooters shot Baba Siddiqui (aged 66) with 9.9 mm pistol while he was traveling in a bulletproof car near the office of MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Khernagar, Bandra. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital. He lost a lot of blood due to two bullets in his chest. He was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state. Siddiqui was finally declared dead at 11.27 pm.

Police have recovered two pistols and 28 cartridges from the two accused. One accused fled from the spot. Police have denied that deceased Baba Siddiqui was given Y category security. But he was given security by three policemen. It is said that a policeman was also with him during the attack.

The investigation of the case has been handed over to the Crime Branch. Police are also investigating other possibilities, including contract killing, business rivalry and a threat received at a Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) project.

The three accused who shot Baba Siddiqui had met a goon of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Haryana jail. All three accused were serving sentences for different crimes. Shivkumar was present at the time of firing in Bandra. When fugitive Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar was found guilty of murder.

Police demanded 14 days custody. The murder was a well-planned conspiracy. The court was told that since Maharashtra Assembly elections are round the corner, there is a need to investigate whether the accused had conspired to murder someone else.

Before the attack the accused were living in Mumbai and Pune. The government lawyer said, 'Who provided the weapons and vehicles used for the murder? The motive behind the murder and the involvement of foreign gangs should be investigated. Was the accused given training in firing? It is necessary to investigate who ordered this attack. The government lawyer said this.

However, the accused's lawyer rejected his claim and said that the police had no evidence to prove that the two had committed the crime. Since the deceased was a famous person, he may have many enemies. The police have falsely implicated both of them in a crime.

According to the police officer, both the accused were living in a rented house worth Rs 14 thousand in Kurla for a month. The accused were given a betel nut worth two and a half to three lakh rupees for the murder. It is said that he had done Reiki before the murder of Siddiqui.

15 police teams have been formed to catch the absconding accused. A police team has also gone to Pune, Ujjain, Haryana, Delhi.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Datta Nalawade said assistant police inspector Rajendra and a constable caught the two shooters after the shootout. After the second accused claimed to be a minor, the court directed the police to test the bone to determine his age. The second accused was directed to appear in the court again after testing his age. After this the court will decide whether the case against him should be tried in juvenile court or in regular court.
