Baba Siddiqui case: NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was cremated on Sunday night. Prayers were offered outside his Bandra home before his body was taken for cremation. After this, he was cremated with full state honors in the Bada graveyard of Mumbai.
Many NCP leaders including Praful Patel, Chhagan Bhujbal and Ajit Pawar attended his funeral. Baba Siddiqui's Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral) took place at Maqba Heights, Pali Road. He was buried in the Bada Kabristan located near the Marine Lines Station. Before this, his mortal remains were kept at his house for the last darshan, where the common people and his fans and supporters were allowed to go.
Was shot on Saturday
It is noteworthy that son Zeeshan was shot while leaving the office on Saturday, after which he was declared dead in the hospital. Baba Siddiqui's last rites were performed with full state honours.
Announcing this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that Siddiqui's last rites will be performed with full state honours. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Siddiqui will be cremated with full state honours. Because he was a minister in the Government of Maharashtra from 2004-2008 and was also the Chairman of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
Salman Khan's last glimpse
Salman Khan also arrived with tight security to bid farewell to his friend. Apart from this, many other Bollywood stars and leaders came to pay their last respects. Police have so far arrested two accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.
Both the accused were presented in a Mumbai court on Sunday. Meanwhile, one of the accused claimed that he is a minor, following which the court ordered the police to examine his bones. The court has sent the second accused on police remand till October 21.
Left Congress this year
Let us tell you that Baba Siddiqui spent his entire political life (about 48 years) in the Congress Party, but this year he left the Congress. His MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui is also likely to join NCP soon and contest the next assembly elections.

Baba Siddiqui was being seen as Ajit Pawar's main strategist in the upcoming assembly elections. After his murder, the opposition has once again got an opportunity to point fingers at the law and order situation of the state government.
The politics of Maharashtra has also heated up due to the murder of Baba Siddiqui. Opposition forces, including Congress, on Sunday alleged complete breakdown of law and order in Maharashtra. Assembly elections are going to be held in the state soon. The ruling BJP and NCP in the state said that those involved in Siddiqui's murder will not be spared. He accused the opposition of doing politics on crime.
