The Maharashtra government, accepting the main demands of the Sikh community, established the Sikh Representation Committee and the Punjabi Sahitya Academy.

Amritsar: The Maharashtra government has accepted many major demands of the Sikh community and has made an official announcement of successfully fulfilling them. While establishing Punjabi Sahitya Academy, the government has appointed prominent face of Maharashtra Balmalkit Singh as its head.

Along with this, Charandeep Singh has been appointed as the representative of the community in the Maharashtra State Minority Development Commission. Apart from this, Jaspal Singhu will be the head of the 11-member Sikh representative committee. The 11 members of the committee include Jaspal Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh Kokar, Ranjit Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Balbir Singh, Harpreet Singh, Sarabjit Singh Saini, Charandeep Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Rameshwar Nayak.
