mumbai metro whatsapp tickets: Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) on Friday launched an eco-friendly WhatsApp-based ticketing service for passengers of Lines 2A and 7. Metro Line 2A is from Andheri West to Dahisar, while Line-7 is from Andheri East to Dahisar. Both lines were launched in April 2022 and serve passengers in the north-western part of the metropolis. The WhatsApp-based ticketing system will increase the use of digital tickets, provide convenience to passengers and provide an environment-friendly alternative to paper tickets.

Under this service launched for passengers on Metro Lines 2A and 7, MMMOCL said in a press release that passengers can now buy tickets directly through WhatsApp, thereby eliminating the need for paper tickets. The WhatsApp-based ticketing service was initiated by a woman passenger amid the Navratri festival, the press release said. Passengers can buy tickets through conversation by sending 'Hi' to WhatsApp number 86526 35500 or by scanning the QR code installed at the stations.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee said that this facility will reduce queues at the counter and make the travel experience more seamless. This service will cover all stations and all lines of Maha Mumbai Metro. According to the press release, a small fee will be charged on credit card or debit card payments, but there will be no additional charges on UPI payments.

Mumbai Metro WhatsApp Tickets: 62 percent daily commuters use paper QR tickets

Ruble Aggarwal, MD, MMOCL, said, 'The WhatsApp ticketing facility will help in reducing queues at ticket counters, making the travel experience even easier. Currently, around 62 per cent of our daily passengers use paper QR tickets, three per cent use mobile QR tickets and 35 per cent use NCMC cards.' WhatsApp based ticketing system will increase the use of digital tickets. Besides this, passengers will also get facilities.
