Rahul Dravid on BCCI incentive scheme : BCCI has taken another step to save Test cricket. The board has come up with an incentive scheme to encourage more young players to play Test cricket instead of T20 and IPL. Under which players who give priority to Test cricket will get more money as match fees.
BCCI announced after winning the test match in Dharamshala
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made this announcement after winning the Test match in Dharamshala yesterday. However, Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid is not very happy with this plan. Dravid believes that money should not be given as an incentive to play Test cricket because Test cricket is tougher than other formats. This scheme should not be seen as an incentive for India to play Test cricket nor as a scheme to get more money.
'No money will be given as incentive to play Test cricket'
Expressing his views on the board's plan, Dravid said, “I hope that money will not be given as incentive to play Test cricket. This should be seen as a step towards understanding just how difficult the format of Test cricket is. Test cricket is not easy. Do we celebrate after playing 100 T20 matches, like we celebrate after playing 100 Test matches? That is, Dravid believes that Test cricket should also get respect like T20 or other formats.
