Important news has come to light regarding the bomb blast outside the busiest airport of Karachi in neighboring country Pakistan. According to the information, initial investigation into the blast has indicated that the attack was carried out with the help of a foreign intelligence agency. According to the report, in the report submitted by the Counter Terrorism Department to the court, it has been claimed that this attack may have been carried out as part of a conspiracy to harm Pakistan-China relations.
Chinese engineers were targeted
Two Chinese nationals were killed and 17 injured in a suicide attack targeting a convoy of Chinese workers by a Baloch insurgent group on Sunday last week. In such a situation, many questions arise on this attack.
A suspected suicide bomber was also killed in the blast near Jinnah International Airport last Sunday night. According to the report, preliminary investigations indicate the involvement of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in the attack and indicate that the attack was carried out with the help of a foreign intelligence agency. The report said it was suggested that an unidentified terrorist had parked his vehicle near a convoy of Chinese citizens before detonating it.
Hearing the sound of this massive bomb blast, the police reached the spot. After this, many injured including police and rangers personnel were found. The Chinese nationals were working at the Port Qasim Electric Power Company outside the city and were returning home when their convoy was attacked. After the blast, a case was registered at the Airport Police Station under the supervision of the Station House Officer, Karachi. The investigation report includes charges including murder, attempt to murder, assault, use of explosive material and terrorism. Preliminary investigation reports earlier this week confirmed that 70 to 80 kilograms of explosives were involved in the incident.
China on Friday said it has sent a working group to Pakistan following the deadly suicide bomb attack in Karachi. Thousands of Chinese workers are working on several projects in Pakistan under the $60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Balochistan, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, has long been a center of violent insurgency. Baloch insurgent groups have previously carried out several attacks targeting the same project. It is noteworthy that in Pakistan itself, Baloch army is fighting a long-running rebellion for a separate motherland. Over the past two years, the group has carried out similar suicide bomb attacks targeting foreign nationals in Karachi.
