Fatehabad, 12 October (Hindustan Reporter) In the Bhuna area of the district, a case of in-laws assaulting a woman and forcing her to drink poison due to the lure of dowry has come to light. The woman has been admitted to a private hospital in Fatehabad for treatment. The police have registered a case in this regard on Saturday.
In the complaint given to Bhuna police in this regard, Manju Rani, a resident of Khajuri Jati village, has said that she was married to Vishnu, a resident of Khajuri Jati. After marriage, her husband Vishnu, mother-in-law Sarbati, father-in-law Mehar Singh, sister-in-law Darshana, Krishna were not happy with the dowry and used to taunt her. After 6 months of marriage, these people started beating her. Panchayat was also held in this matter. The woman said that on October 9, when she was working at home, her brother-in-law Sher Singh and his wife Roshni, Krishna, Dalbir came and asked her to get the land allotted to them from her maternal house in their name.
When she refused, her in-laws caught hold of her, forced her to drink poison and started beating her. She ran into the room and closed the gate. After this he informed on dial 112. As soon as the information was received, his family members also reached the spot and got him admitted to a private hospital in Fatehabad for treatment. In this case, the police have registered a case against the in-laws of the woman.
