This time also a joint Dussehra festival will be organized at Ramlila Maidan by Jodhpur Municipal Corporation North and South. The effigy of Ravana in the form of ego will be burnt here on Saturday. Mayor Kunti Parihar and Vanita Seth told that this time 80 feet high effigies of Ravana and his family members will be burnt in Gau Dhuli Vela in Ramlila Maidan. Like every time, this time the effigy of Ravana has been dressed in dhoti, Jodhpuri achkan, silk dhoti and shoes. Besides, about 40 feet tall effigies of Meghnad, Kumbhakarna, Shuparnakha and Tadka have also been constructed. Like every year, the Akhara team in-charge at Ramlila Maidan will be felicitated by the corporation this year too by wearing a turban. The donation amount will be dedicated by the corporation after offering prayers in the temples falling on the route of Ram Sawari. Municipal Corporation North and South Commissioner T Shubh Mangala said that proper arrangements have been made for the city residents who come to watch the Dussehra festival at Ramlila Maidan. Also, barricading has been done in the ground for security reasons. He said that all the arrangements have been reviewed in collaboration with the district administration and police administration.
